UCSC EEB GSR: R tutor for Graduate Students (March 2023 — May 2023)

  • Tutored two graduate students (one EEB and one ENVS) 

  • Held one-on-one sessions with each student to teach data organization, version control, good coding practices, and basic functions in R tidyverse packages

  • Assisted each student in wrangling their own data to produce preliminary results for their first dissertation chapters

UCSC EEB Instructor: Teaching Assistant

  • Courses instructed: Evolution (2021, 2022, 2023), Freshwater Ecology Lab (2022)

  • Evolution: supported instructors during active portion of lecture, led weekly labs and paper discussions, graded assignments

  • Freshwater Ecology Lab: supported instructor in classroom and field, transported students to field sites, led wet lab classroom sessions

UCSC Doris Duke Scholars Conservation Program: Graduate Mentor (June 2021 — August 2021)

  • Provided undergraduate Doris Duke Conservation Scholars with local support in Santa Cruz and on UCSC campuses/reserves during their summer internships 

  • Organized weekly talks with various local scientists and optional bonding activities in Santa Cruz on the weekends
